What is PBIS?
 
 Positive Behavioral Intervention Support (PBIS) is a process of teaching behavioral expectations,  in the same manner as a teacher would instruct students on any of the core subject.  PBIS will take 3-5 behavioral expectations and rather than telling the students what they have done wrong, they will emphasize the positives.
 
Here are a few examples of  expectations at YVES:
 
Library
  • Sit, listen and participate.
  • Whisper
  • Wait your turn
  • Take careof materials
  • Check out all books properly
  • Push in your chair
  • Return books on time
  • Walk at all times
  • Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.
Hallway
  • Make straight lines
  • Keep silent in the hallways
  • Keep an appropriate distance from the person in front of you
  • Stay on sidewalks
  • Keep hallways free from litter.
  • Have your pass if you are not with a class.
  • Go directly to your destination quietly.
  • Keep your hands down, feet and objects to yourself and keep your eyes lookign ahead.
  • Walk at all times and stay to your right.
Restroom
  • Respect others privacy
  • Speak quietly.
  • Keep restroom clean.
  • Flush toilet or urinal 1 time when finished.
  • Wash hands using 1 pump of soap
  • Count to 10 twice when washing your hands.
  • Dry your hands.
  • Walk
  • Keep your hands to yourself.
