The Prospector Post

May 23, 2019

Well Done!

Dear Prospector Families:

It's been a great first year for me, and I am proud of our staff, students and families for joining together for a successful year.

I will be giving a full report of our progress towards our school goals next month, but I can unofficially report that our attendance rate has gone up almost two percent, our family involvement has increased, and student achievement on our STAR reading and math assessments has improved.

We look forward to celebrating many successes with you at our end of the year awards and promotion ceremonies!

Please join our Facebook Page at Yucca Valley Elementary School (News) for more frequent updates. We will be posting updates over summer. You might even see your principal reading a story on there!

Kindergarten enrollment may be completed online by clicking here.

Thank you for being a vital part of our success this year! There will be one more newsletter in June.

Go, Prospectors!

Student Information Form

Thank you for taking a few moments to complete your child's student information form that went home last week. This is important to ensure that we have current contact information. It will also support the school in planning classes for 2019-2020.

Please let us know if you are interested in Transitional Kindergarten (TK)! TK students turn 5 between September 2 and December 1. We're working to develop and refine our program.

STEM / STEAM Education

We have been working to integrate more STEM/STEAM into our curriculum. Here is a little more information on what that looks like!

The overview video gives a good introduction, but here are some photos showing some fantastic activities over the year.
