Writers and Illustrators of the Future Contest
Award Amount: Prizes of $1000, $750 and $500 with the grand prize of $5,000 at the end of the Year

 L. Ron Hubbard’s Writers and Illustraitors of the Future Contest is an opportunity for new writers and Artists of science fiction and fantasy to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and discovered by a wide audience.
Writer Contest Rules 
  1. No entry fee is required
  2.  All entries must be original
  3. To be eligible, entries must be works of prose, up to 17,000 words in length.
  4. Entries may not have been previously published in professional media. 

Illustraitor Contest Rules

  1. The Contest is open to new and amateur artists who have not been professionally published
  2. Each entrant may submit only one set of illustrations in each Contest quarter.
  3.  The entry shall consist of three illustrations done by the entrant in a color or black-and-white medium created from the artist’s imagination. Use of gray scale in illustrations and mixed media, computer generated art, and the use of photography in the illustrations are accepted. Each illustration must represent a subject different from the other two.
  4.  Each winner will receive a cash prize of US $500. Winners will also receive eligibility to compete for the annual Grand Prize of $5,000

Do you have a compelling recovery story? Have you witnessed the challenges that addiction can present, or helped someone overcome substance use disorder? Share your experience and describe why you are eager to enter the health care field for a chance to be awarded a $1,000 scholarship. To enter to win a $1,000 scholarship, simply submit a short essay (no more than 500 words) describing why you are passionate about substance use disorder and mental health treatment. Essays can be in the form of a personal narrative with a medical perspective or focus specifically on clinical experience.

American Graphics Institute offers multiple scholarships to encourage the use of design and creative thinking across various disciplines and fields.  

All scholarship applicants must meet the following requirements along with all other scholarship rules, including:

  • Must be enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited two or four year college or university located in the United States for the Design Thinking Scholarship. This can be any accredited college or university, and it is not limited to students of American Graphics Institute.
  • One scholarship application per person may be submitted during each scholarship period.
  • The scholarship winner must be a legal resident of the United States or hold a valid student visa.
  • A completed scholarship application form must be submitted.
  • The scholarship is void in any jurisdiction where prohibited by law.
  • Scholarship winners are decided exclusively by the scholarship committee at American Graphics Institute. Scholarship winners are contacted two weeks following the submission deadline, in mid-January and mid-September of each year.

The Community Contribution Scholarship is open to all High School students who have recognized a need or problem in their community and have determined a way to address the issue. 
3 things we are looking for in the scholarship submission:
  • The project is the student’s original idea that addresses a specific and pressing need in the student’s community.
  • A student who believes that change starts locally and is passionate about making that change happen.
  • A true leader who uses his/her unique talents to nurture the project.

    To apply for the scholarship, applicants should submit a short story or informational article for children (400-800 words) to along with their full name, age, and current school level info. 

    Stories and articles will be rated from 0-5 based on the following criteria:

    • Student must be currently enrolled or expected to enroll in at least a 2 Year degree program by September.
    • Be a US or Canadaian resident and plan to attend college in the US or Canada

    Essay Topic: Write an essay about a situation you or someone you know has been involved in where better safety procedures would have prevented injury. Explain in detail what safety procedures you feel should have been in place to prevent the injury and how they would have prevented it.

    The Career & Technical Scholarship Program is funded through the Horatio Alger Endowment Fund and the generosity of Association Chairman Emeritus and Endowment Fund President Walter Scott, Jr.  Scholarships are awarded to students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their lives who wish to pursue a career or technical education at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States. 
    To be eligible for the Career & Technical Education Scholarship, applicants must:
    • Be under the age of 30 at the time of applying. 
    • Be a United States citizen
    • applicants must have earned a high school diploma, high school equivalency credential, or will complete this requirement by the application deadline.
    • Will be enrolled in eligible program in Fall 2019
    • Demonstrated critical financial need (must be eligible to receive the Federal Pell grant as determined by completion of the FAFSA)
    • Demonstrated perseverance in overcoming adversity
