Horatio Alger State Scholarship
Horatio Alger State Scholarship 
Award Amount: $10,000
Awards Available:  Multiple per state
Deadline: October 25, 2019 
 
State scholarships are awarded to eligible students in all fifty states and the District of Columbia. The program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. 

Eligilibity: 

  1. Be a United States citizen
  2. Maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0
  3. Display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity
  4. Be involved in co-curricular and community service activities
  5. Demonstrate critical financial need ($55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required)
  6. Exhibit a strong commitment to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree at an accredited non-profit public or private institution in the United States (students may start their studies at a two-year institution and then transfer to a four-year institution)
  7. Be enrolled full time as a high school senior in the United States; be progressing normally toward graduation in spring/summer of 2019 with plans to enter a college in the United States no later than the fall following graduation

As one of the nation’s largest college financial aid programs in the country, the Horatio Alger National Scholarship Program is one of the major scholarship programs that specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. 
 
Eligibility: 
  •  Be a United States citizen

G2 Overachievers Grant
G2 Overachievers Grant
Award Amount: $15,000.00

Overachievers can change the world. Pilot Pen and Priyanka Chopra invite you to nominate yourself or someone you know who goes above and beyond everyday duties to improve the lives of others. Handwrite your story to either apply for 1.) The $15,000 G2 Overachievers Student Grant (if you’re a student overachiever between the ages of 13-19) or 2.) The $100,000 G2 Overachievers Grant for all others.
 
Eligibility: 
  •  Participants must be legal residents of the fifty (50) United States
  • currently attend middle or high school, and between the ages of 13 through 19 years of age.
  • Participants must describe in 1,000 – 1,500 handwritten words why Participant believes the Nominee to be an Overachiever Student. The Nomination Story must address each of the following questions:
  • Why do you believe the Nominee to be an Overachiever Student, meaning one who has made a difference in their community outside of their everyday duties?
  • How has the Nominee improved the lives of others?
  • What is the Nominee’s overall goal for this passion?
  • What is the biggest challenge currently facing the Nominee?
  • What are the measurable results from the Nominee’s actions?
  • What is the name and address of the Nominee and the Nominee’s school?

We decided to establish a $1,000 annual scholarship to help University students across the country, who are struggling financially. 
 

Applicants need to write an essay of 600-1000 words on one of the following topics

  • How the United States can shorten the ever-widening gap between the main two political parties, bring them closer together, including, but not limited, to specifics toward compromise for the greater good
  • How the overall educational system of the United States can be looked at differently to promote different learning techniques and stimulate learning of all groups, getting individuals better prepared for life outside/after school.

  1. Conduct your own environmental stewardship project in 2020.
  2. Take a few digital photos of your project in action.

AXA Achievement Scholarship
AXA Achievement Scholarship
 
The AXA Achievement Scholarship provides over $1.4 million in scholarships to young people. Students have the opportunity to receive a $2,500, $10,000 or $25,000 scholarship.
 
Applicants to the AXA Achievement Scholarship Must:
  • Be United States citizens or legal residents living or claiming residency in one of the 50 united states, Washington, D.C. or Puerto Rico. 
  • Be current high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time in an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States for the entire 2018-2019 academic year
  • Demonstrate ambition and self-drive as evidenced by outstanding achievement in school, community or work-related activities.
