This Scholarship is in Honor and memory of JaMarcus Gilmore (2004-2017). An inspiring young man who greatly impacted the community with his dedication and seriousness toward learning. JaMarcus was a member of the Honor Society, a Robotics team member, and a student volunteer.
  • Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA
  • Applicant must exhibit exceptional leadership potential 
  • Applicant must be involved the community

 Applicants will also need to attach an official transcript, a community service letter detailing services preformed, a professional letter of recommendation, and a one page typed (double spaced) essay describing future goals.

  • Has a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Your Mission: Create a video EITHER exactly :25 or exactly :55 seconds.
Your Audience: Young drivers who are new to the road. 
Your Topic/Brief: Stop distracted driving, specifically texting while driving. A lot of texting and driving prevention use scare tactics or preachy messaging that addresses the consequences of texting and driving (crashes or death). We want you to address what motivates people to think they can safely text and drive.
Elidgability: High school juniors and seniors or Undergraduate college or university students.

The CMC Foundation Alumni Scholarships are intended to encourage students from the local high schools to pursue their first two years at Copper Mountain College and then transfer to finish their Bachelor’s degree at a 4-year college or university. 

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Two letters of recommendation. One (1) letter must be from a current or former teacher/instructor.
  2. Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0. Official High School transcripts must be submitted in a sealed envelope with the scholarship application.
  3. One page essay (12 point font, double-spaced, MLA format) describing applicant’s educational goals and educational plan
