STAR MATH AND READING AND HISTORY BENCHMARK TESTING:  Started Monday, December 17th – January 18th.  Students, do your best on these tests because they will be used for placement/elective selection for next school year.   Ms. Orgel/Dr. Gruwell

SCHOOL SITE COUNCIL MEETING:  is today, December 18th, at 2:00 in the library.  Dr. Gruwell

2ND SEMESTER AFTER SCHOOL CLUBS AND ACTIVITIES:  The new list for 2nd semester after school clubs, sports and activities is available in Student Services, Counseling and should also be posted in your classroom.  You must have a new permission form to stay after school for any activities for 2nd Semester.   Dr. Gruwell

SPIN-TO-WIN:  will be held this Friday, December 21st, during lunch times.  Be sure to get your Gold Slips turned in before then! Good luck. Mr. Alberg

SPIRIT DAYS:  Join in the fun of spirit days this week.  Wednesday, December 19th, is wear red, green and white day; Thursday, December 20th, is crazy socks day; and Friday, December 21st is ugly sweater day.  Have fun!   Mrs. Herrera/Dr. Gruwell

 HOLIDAY G.A.T.E. BREAK OUT BOX SESSION will be held this week on 12/19-12/20 for G.A.T.E. students. Flyers and permission slips went home with students.  Please turn them in to Ms. Lafferty directly in room 71.  (They are not to be given to any other teacher or put in Ms. Lafferty’s box).  Space is limited to 24.  Slots are on a first-come, first served basis and Ms. Lafferty will be writing kids names down in the order she personally receives their permission slips.  Thank you!     Ms. Lafferty

NEWPORT LANDING WHALE WATCHING FIELD TRIP:  will be held on Saturday, January 26th, from 5:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  The cost is $40.00 with ASB and $45.00 without ASB.  Parents must provide transportation to and from school.  Permission forms are available in Student Services.  There are a limited number of tickets so get them soon.     Mrs. Herrera/Ms. Crawford
