Riddle of the Day:

 FIRE DRILL:  The full evacuation fire drill has been rescheduled for today, February 25th, at 8:20.   Mr. Powell

CHARACTER COUNTS CELEBRATION:  The 2nd Quarter Character Counts celebration will be held on Tuesday, February 26th, at lunch times.  Students will receive invitations during 1st period.  Please bring your invitation to lunch to get your special treat!  Congratulations to those students who had no discipline issues during 2nd quarter. Thank you to ASB/Leadership for the treats!   Dr. Gruwell

BAND TRIP:  Some of our band students will be traveling to YVHS with Mrs. Dulatre-Corbin on Thursday, February 28th, leaving at 7:15 and returning at 10:00.  Have a great time!  Dr. Gruwell

SPIN-TO-WIN:  has been rescheduled on Friday, March 1st, during lunch times.  Be sure to get your Gold Slips turned in.  Good luck!   Mr. Alberg

BINGO NIGHT:  The parent group is hosting a Bingo Night on Friday night, March 1st.  Doors open at 5:30 and games will be begin at 6:00.  Bingo cards are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  Hot dogs, drinks, chips and popcorn will be served.  Prizes are donated by local businesses or community members.  Come join the fun!!   La Contenta Parent Association

 CARE PACKAGES FOR HOMELESS:  National Junior Honor Society is collecting donations to make care packages for the homeless in our community.  We need donations of small shampoos and conditioners, hand sanitizer, soap, socks, deodorant, toothpaste/toothbrushes, Chapstick, and lotion.  Please drop off donations in the box in Student Services.  We greatly appreciate any help you can give us to make our community service project a HUGE success!  Thank you!  Please see Mrs. Benstead in Room 25 with any questions.    Mrs. Benstead

            1ST SEMESTER ACADEMIC CELEBRATION: has been rescheduled for Friday, March 8th.  Dr. Gruwell

“CALIFORNIA SCHOOLS JPA NIGHT” HOCKEY GAME:  March 2nd, 2019, is California Schools JPA Night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, CA.  The event is an American Hockey League game for the Ontario Reign team (an affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings) vs. Iowa Wild.  40 people will be selected to hold the American Flag during Opening Ceremonies.  Two lucky people will get to ride the Zamboni.  Ticket prices are $20 and $30.  Come to the office to pick up information for your family to order tickets.  Enjoy a night out with your family to support California Schools JPA.  Funds raised for this event will assist in programs across school districts to build student resiliency.   Dr. Gruwell
