Welcome Back Roadrunners!

Welcome Yucca Mesa Families to a new school year!
We hope that everyone enjoyed a fun filled and relaxing summer!

It is with great pleasure that I write to welcome you back to another great school year.  I hope your summer has been filled with fun family activities, enjoying the wonderful desert sunshine.  How quickly summer concludes and our thoughts turn to preparing for the start of school.  Preparing for the start of this school year has been filled with challenges and obstacles, but we are excited to have your children back with us. Watching each child grow from the first day of school to the last is such a wonderful experience. I am thrilled to be part of a team comprised of teachers, staff, parents and students who want to achieve great things! Our faculty, staff and I are looking forward to a new school year and are working hard to see that your child’s learning experience at Yucca Mesa is a successful and happy one.

Your partnership and support are key elements to ensuring that we are able to maximize each student’s educational and personal development.  To that end, we encourage a positive home-school relationship based on the mutual goal of providing the best learning experience possible for all of our students.  Our talented faculty brings a diverse set of approaches to instruction in order to address a variety of student learning styles.  For those families that have chosen distance learning you will have the opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to learn about our new learning platform called Canvas. They will provide a tour of the site and resources students will be using, as well as providing expectations for on-line learning including policy, procedures, and education codes that need to be followed. Your teacher will contact those choosing independent study, as you will work with them to ensure your child’s educational needs will be supported.

We are excited for the day when we can welcome our students and families back on campus for a traditional learning experience. However, for now our teacher have been trained and are working extremely hard to ensure that they will continue to provide great academic instruction to all of our students.

We wish you the best for a successful and rewarding school year!

Sincerely,

Matt Gay
