School Attendance Sign

We expect all students to be at school every day. The more a child is at school, the more he/she can learn. We have a school wide attendance incentive program which encourages classes to have perfect attendance. It starts out easy, when a class has three days of perfect attendance they earn a small treat. It increases by one day each time. When a child is late, absent, or picked up early, it effects the entire class. Remember: Perfect Attendance Awards are also given out to individual students each trimester!

If you are late, you must report to the office for a tardy slip before going to class. If you are absent, you must return to school with a note explaining your absence OR a parent must use the "Report an Absence" link on the homepage of the schools website. Please include the students name, date and reason for absence. If you must leave early, your parent should send a note explaining why and when you will be getting picked up. The parent must come to the office to sign you out before you may leave.

The only excused absences for students are those due to illness, bereavement, or medical appointments. Vacations, travel plans, and absences for personal reasons are unexcused, even if we have been notified of the reason for the absence. Picking your child up before the end of the school day should only be done in the case of a medical or dental appointment. Please schedule appointments after school hours when possible.

If attendance issues become excessive, your child will be referred to the School Attendance Review Board.
