This course is designed to provide students with an overview of the eligibility and training standards required for various professions within the criminal justice system. It examines: law enforcement, courts, corrections, and the juvenile justice system. It further provides practical experience in the area of law enforcement communications, arrest and patrol strategies, fundamentals of report writing, victimology, and procedures regarding police and the Constitution. The curriculum for this course includes important 21st century job skills, such as effective communication, critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Participation & Attendance
Be on time and ready to work. Participation and Attendance are essential in this class. You will be expected to participate in classroom discussion and lab activities. Points will be given each day for (being on time, paying attention, and participating in the lessons and discussions)
Students are to practice safety procedures and common sense in the online classroom. Always follow instructions. Horseplay and inappropriate language will not be tolerated.

In the event you have an excused absence, you will be provided the opportunity to make up missed work. You will be given one (1) day for every excused day you are absent to make up the work.
10% will be deducted for any late work. Work submitted more than two days after the due date may be assigned further penalties, or may not be accepted by the teacher. 3 days total for late work or a 0% will be given
You will not be provided the opportunity to make up work if you have an unexcused absence.
You will have opportunities to earn extra credit throughout the year.
