I am pleased to officially introduce myself as your new Superintendent of Schools, and let you know how excited I am to serve the greater Morongo Basin community. I consider it a true privilege to have been appointed by the Board of Education as your new Superintendent and look forward to working with each of you to ensure our students are college and career ready. 

 

As an educator for over 25 years, I wholeheartedly believe in the value of education, and I am committed to ensuring all current and future students have multiple opportunities to explore their interests, find their true passions, and reach their full potential. 

 

I obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and Sociology and continued with my education obtaining my teaching credentials while working on a Master’s degree in Administration and Leadership at La Sierra University. I continued my studies at the University of California Riverside and received a Doctorate in Philosophy with an emphasis on Instructional Leadership and Policy Studies. I have served as a teacher, site administrator, and district administrator and also as an adjunct professor in the doctoral program at La Sierra University. 

 

My mission as your Superintendent is also my passion, and it is the reason I do what I do. My goal is to maintain and grow a rigorous and equitable teaching and learning environment that provides every student with a sense of belonging, while helping them grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. It aligns with the district’s message “where students come first,” knowing that it is critical to provide every student with a world class education that includes the habits of mind and skills necessary to pursue their goals and dreams after graduating from high school. 

 

This is an exciting time for the Morongo Unified School District as we focus on providing a quality education for all students within a safe, secure, and supportive environment. I am looking forward to the years ahead serving the Morongo Basin.
