Transfers FAQ

To transfer to a school of choice (instead of your neighborhood school), you must first enroll your student in your neighborhood school.  No transfer decisions can be made until after the first 10 days of the new school year.
After the first 10 days of school, parents may submit a written request form  to their school of choice. Transfer decisions will be made by the principals of both schools in consultation with district leadership. Students on transfer are expected to show that they benefit from the transfer as evidenced by behavior, attendance and academic achievement.  No district-provided transportation will be available to students on approved transfers.

An interdistrict transfer/reciprocal agreement is needed if you live outside of the Morongo Unified School District boundaries and wish to transfer into one of our excellent schools. Written requests for Inter-District transfer will be accepted March 2, 2022 - May 30, 2022 for the 2022 - 2023 school year. (The written request for Inter-District transfer form can be opened and submitted using Adobe Acrobat Reader.)
Approval is pursuant to Education Code 46600.1, 46600.2. Placement decisions will be made after July 1, 2022 and communicated via email. All Inter-District requests are contingent on available space. The Morongo Unified School District will do its best to accommodate your request. Once your written request has been completed, please email to Mr. Isaac Hirales, Child Welfare and Attendance at [email protected].
Please contact the district office at (760)367-9191 x 4361 if you have any questions. Board Policy 5117
