Members of the Twentynine Palms High School Interact Club wrapped up their annual Thanksgiving food drive Saturday, putting smiles on the faces of 300 Morongo Basin families.
The club collected everything needed for a classic holiday feast—boxed roll mix, stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, cranberries, vegetables, pumpkin pie mix, crust mix and evaporated milk—turning the school into a mini Thanksgiving warehouse.
Families picked up their Thanksgiving boxes during a cheerful drive-through giveaway from 9 a.m. to noon Nov. 22 at the high school’s bus loop. Volunteers and Interact Club members greeted each car with waves, high-fives and plenty of holiday cheer, making sure everyone left with both a full meal and a warm dose of seasonal joy.
