STUDENTS

Seniors! It's that time of year to start planning your next steps—whether it's college, trade school, military, or entering the workforce! Please check your Synergy email for a survey to tell us what places you’ll go after high school!

The YVHS Music Club is starting! Come to the band room (H-1) at 2:00pm on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13 for our first Music Club meeting. This club is designed for students who are proficient on their instruments and want an opportunity to perform on campus and possibly in the community. See Mr. Barrett if you have any questions.

Our next day of Saturday School is on November 15th. Saturday School is an excellent way for students to recoup absences, as well as use the time to catch up on any missing work. One session of Saturday School clears one full absence. Please sign up with the Attendance Office here on campus.

As the days get colder, how nice would it be to start your Friday off with a hot drink? This Friday, and every Friday during November, hot cocoa will be available outside the ASB office for $3, from 6:15-6:40am. Get yours this Friday.

Students, please remember that selling food, snacks, or candy on campus is not allowed unless it’s part of an approved school fundraiser. If you are found selling items without authorization, they will be confiscated and a parent or guardian will need to pick them up after school. If you are feeling hungry, the nutritional staff has plenty of snacks available before school, during lunch, and after school. Thank you for your cooperation and for helping keep our campus clean for everyone.

The Library is hosting a Book Bingo for November.  Complete bingo on 1 of 2 cards and earn a gold coin for our book vending machine.  All it takes is reading 4-5 books this month to get the prize.  This bingo will broaden your reading since each square has a different theme or type of book.  If you have any questions, please see Ms. Lisa in the Library.

Permission slips for Grad Nite are available in the ASB office. A permission slip & school ID will be needed to purchase a ticket. This is a Senior Only event.

Who is Jesus — a lunatic, a liar, or the Lord?  People have argued about it for centuries — now it’s your turn to decide. Come to New Life Club and join the conversation! Wednesdays at lunch. First Lunch: Mrs. Nicholson’s room (L-9). Second Lunch: Mr. Wali’s room (G-3). Everyone’s welcome — bring your friends and your questions!

If you received an ID in paper form, please bring it to ASB so Mrs. Weiss can exchange it for you. Must have paper ID to receive a new one.

Juniors! It's that time again to apply for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards. RYLA is an intensive leadership experience organized by Rotary clubs and districts during which you develop leadership skills while having fun and making connections. Check your email or come to Counseling office to see Ms. Happy for the application. The deadline to submit applications is December 19.

The YVHS Fall ASVAB test has been rescheduled to December 16, 2025. As the date approaches, we will notify students who signed up via their Synergy email.

Seniors: the 2026 Elks Most Valuable Student application is now open! Awards are between $500 to $2000 for local, and more for state! Deadline is today, November 12, 2025. Check your Synergy email or see Ms. Happy for information.

SPORTS

The wrestling team is still looking for students that want to wrestle this season. See Coach Francis in room G-8 or come by the wrestling room for details after school.
