STUDENTS:
Seniors! If you have a senior package payment plan, the deadline is march 20th. Failure to complete these payments will result in sitting out for Grad Nite, and you will not receive your yearbook. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Weiss in the ASB office.
Senior Superlatives voting is today during second period. Juniors and seniors only can vote by filling out a paper ballot by choosing your top two choices in each category. Yearbook students will collect the ballots by the end of second period. Winners will be notified and photographed next week.
Yearbook applications are available for students who would like to be on next year’s staff. Pick one up in L14, and turn completed applications in to Mr. Sanchez. Selected applications will be passed on to counselors for next year’s course selections.
Sophomores -- You are eligible to take the PSAT 10 test in April. The PSAT test is a great practice for the SAT test and could make you eligible for college scholarships! The be included on the list for the test in April, please see Mr. Barrett in room H-1 during lunch, before school, or after school.
Just a reminder that the Junior Class is hosting a Valentine’s Breakfast to help raise money for prom. Join us on February 21 at the Elks Lodge on Yucca Trail from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. Tickets are fifteen dollars, and yes, that includes good food and good vibes. Grab your friends, grab a date, or just come hungry. It’s Valentine’s themed, so expect all the cute energy. Tickets are being sold by ASB members and will also be available the day of the event. Don’t miss out!

The 2026 Quest Bridge College Prep scholarship program application is now open! This is for JUNIORS only, and the deadline is March 24, 2026. This includes full scholarships to summer programs at prestigious universities, such as Yale, Princeton, and more, valued up to $20,000 each. Selected juniors will qualify for Quest Bridge National College Match scholarship program during 12th grade year--a full ride scholarship. Previous Questbridge scholars from YVHS have attended Princeton University and Williams College.
Attention Seniors! The 2026 Military Spouses’ Association 29 Palms Scholarship is now open! If you are a dependent of a military member from any branch, whether active or non-active, you are eligible to apply. Please check your Synergy email or visit the Counseling Office for the application and additional details. Deadline: March 13. Applications may be mailed directly to the organization or submitted to the Counseling Office.
Our next Saturday School is scheduled for this Saturday, February 21. Saturday School is an excellent way for students to recoup absences, get off the no go list as well as use the time to catch up on any missing work. One session of Saturday School clears one full absence. Please sign up with the Attendance Office to reserve your spot.
SPORTS:
Saturday, February 14 at the CIF individual tournament four wrestlers placed at their individual weight. Amanda Miranda play sixth in her weight class. Jesse Wilson and Bryan Minsky placed fourth in their weight classes. Mariano Ramirez placed eighth in his weight class. Amanda, Jesse, and Bryan will move onto Masters individual tournament this weekend.
Any male students that want to play tennis. We have practice after school Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30-4:00 PM. Please have your physical clear.
