STUDENTS

Today, we are on regular assembly schedule. See you in the gym after 7th period, where we will celebrate spring sports and reveal the prom theme!

Last weekend, 16 YVHS students attended the RYLA conference. RYLA stands for Rotary Youth Leadership Awakening. It was an intensive leadership training camp for high school students across Southern California. A huge shoutout to Isaiah Nicholson and Taj Ladhar for earning the prestigious RYLA, Attitude, Commitment and Enthusiasm award. Only 4 awards were given to over 210 program participants, and half of them went to YVHS students! Way to represent, Trojans!

Senior movie night will be hosted on March 20 at 7pm at Trojan Field! We will be watching Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules. Please be sure to wear either your senior shirt or hoodie. Outside food and beverages are NOT permitted. Come out for a night of nostalgia!

Seniors, this is your friendly reminder that any overdue books or technology equipment you may have is now due.  If you have items that have been lost or damaged, please come to the library as soon as possible so that we can take care of them.  Prom, Grad Night, Senior Trip, Graduation, and receiving your diploma are quickly coming up!  Those who are missing items have already been contacted and provided notices of what is needed.  If you did not receive one, but still want to verify that you are clear, come by the library, and Mrs. Spraggins can let you know.

Permission slips for the upcoming field trip to the Riverside Art Museum are now available in Room L6. The trip will take place on April 16. Please return your signed permission slip by April 7.

Football player seniors! The Michael Ramos Scholarship deadline has been extended to March 20. Please check your Synergy email or visit the Counseling Office to pick up an application. The award amount is $1,300.

Calling all Trojans! If you are interested in being a campus leader, ASB applications for next year open up today! Applications are available to pick up in the ASB office and will be due by March 20.

Seniors who were not able to pick up their cap & gown can do so in the ASB office, a current student ID will be required.

Seniors! If you have a senior package payment plan, the deadline is March 20. Failure to complete these payments will result in sitting out for Grad Nite, and you will not receive your yearbook. If you have any questions, contact Ms. Weiss in the ASB office.

Congratulations to the following students for having perfect attendance last week: Mackenzie Sharp, Katelyn Davis, Liam Carroll, Julia Doria and Ilusion Torres! Please stop by F5 this week to get a prize!

The PBIS Incentive Store will be open this Friday at both lunches in front of the cafeteria. Stop by and exchange your PRIDE tickets for some cool prizes! Keep doing the right thing out there, Trojans!

SPORTS

The Trojan swim team traveled to Coachella Valley yesterday to take on the Coachella Valley Arabs in their first league meet of the season.  All three levels swam a great meet, with the varsity boys winning 110-31, the varsity girls winning 115-57, and the JV girls winning 47-21.  The Trojans are now 1-0 in league and 3-0 on the season.  Next Thursday, they once again travel down the hill to Cathedral City High School to take on Rancho Mirage Rattlers.
