GATE students: permission slips are now available in L6. Please check your emails for more details regarding the trip.

Attention Trojans! Get ready to have some fun for a great cause! On May 13th, come out in front of the gym during both lunches for our “Pie a Senior” event! For just $5 a pie, you’ll get the chance to pie one of our seniors—don’t miss your opportunity to make a mess and make some memories!

ASB invites you to this year’s prom, “A Tale as Old as Time,” happening on May 16, 2026, from 7 to 11 PM at the Riviera Resort and Spa in Palm Springs. Ticket prices are $100 until May 13. Out-of-school guest tickets are $120, and the purchase deadline is May 7. Don’t wait--be sure to get your tickets early. All tickets are being sold by Mr. Sanchez in the ASB office during both lunches. We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to the following Trojans for winning the PBIS Lunch Incentive from Castaneda's for the month of April: Dannyela Roberts, Moises Cervantes, Gwendolyn Griffith, and Lora Petrie! Please stop by F5 by Thursday to choose what you want to eat this Friday. Keep earning and turning in those PRIDE tickets!

Attention Students: If you park on the street near campus, please be mindful not to block any residential driveways or entrances to parking lots. Blocking access creates issues for homeowners and can result in complaints or citations. We appreciate your cooperation in being respectful to our surrounding community and helping keep access clear for everyone. Thank you.

The library will be closed through today, May 7, with the exception of 1st period.  The closure includes both lunches.  If you need to return books, please do so during 1st period.

Juniors and Seniors! Prom is coming up, and if you are on the no-go list for owing library items, now is the time to get everything taken care of!  Remember, you will not be admitted to Prom if you are missing anything! Also, if you are taking an underclassman, they will be denied entry as well if they owe anything.  Be sure to see Ms. Lisa in the library to either return the items or, if you no longer have the items, get information on what to do next.

Freshmen and Sophomores! If you are missing any items from YVHS or any other district site, remember that you are on the no-go list.  Being on this list will prohibit you from participating in any activities at YVHS, including, but not limited to, sports, dances, etc.  Remember that some sports are already preparing for next school year.

Order your 2026 yearbook today at Jostens.com. The book will arrive in May, so make sure to reserve your copy now.

Our next Saturday School is scheduled for Saturday, May 9. Saturday School is an excellent way for students to recoup absences, get off the no go list as well as use the time to catch up on any missing work. One session of Saturday School clears one full absence. Please sign up with the Attendance Office to reserve your spot.

SPORTS

Varsity baseball came through by winning their last two games over Indio and Twentynine Palms, securing second place in league and a spot in playoffs. The team showed great teamwork and effort all around. They are looking forward to playoffs and also completing the sweep versus Twentynine Palms. Show them your support and go Trojans!

Are you ready for some football? Spring football begins May 12 at 2pm on the field. You must have a current physical on HOME CAMPUS.

Are you planning to wrestle next year? If you are, the wrestling team will be starting practice at school in the wrestling room next Tuesday, May 5, and will be holding practice every Tuesday and Thursday from 2:10pm to 4pm, for all of May and the first week of June. You will need to bring practice clothes and have a current sports physical and athlete clearance. If you have questions, please email Coach Francis or talk to him in room G-8 or the wrestling room.
