Superintendent's Message, December 2011 

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Here we are, almost half way through the school year. Of note, Mr. Ed Will is the new President of our Board of Education. 

Our teachers and students continue to work hard for students to learn all the essentials to get promoted to the next grade, or in the case of our students in the 12th grade, to graduate. It is amazing all the wonderful things that are going on in our schools. 

One thing that is disturbing is that you continue to hear in the press how our public schools are failing and inevitably the blame is put on public school teachers. I say this is rubbish.

Our teachers and administrators at the sites work tirelessly to help our students. While none of us is perfect, a tremendous amount of energy is being expended to make your children successful. Nonetheless, we are only one part. Parents/Guardians play a critical role in ensuring their kids get to school and give encouragement to them to do their homework and pay attention in school. The students, for their part, have to actively listen to what is being taught and take part in classroom activities.  

Let’s make a concerted effort to help your student be successful. Thanks for all you do!
